Around 300 BCE, the philosopher Theophrastus described amethyst as “wine-coloured and transparent” — one of the most prized gemstones in the ancient world. By the 18th century, Persian physician Hakim Aghili Khorasani was prescribing it in the Makhzan al-Adwiya (Treasury of Medicines) for palpitations, fainting, and the stilling of a restless mind. The name itself comes from ancient Greek: amethystos, meaning “not drunk” — a stone believed to keep the wearer clear, present, and themselves.

Alongside it: Green Aventurine, a stone synonymous with open paths and new momentum. The two together make a piece about intention. The clear mind amethyst offers. The forward motion aventurine opens up.

10mm beads alternate in deep purple and earthy sage green, each separated by 18k gold rondelle disc spacers. Curved gold tube bars at the shoulder sections follow the natural fall of the collarbone.
