Stones don’t know about borders.

Lapis lazuli was ground into medicine by Persian physicians when Persia had a different name. The same stone coloured the robes of Renaissance Madonnas in Florence and was buried with Egyptian pharaohs in Luxor. Carnelian was worn by Nubian queens and carved into Mesopotamian royal seals. Jade moved along the Silk Road before the Silk Road had a name. Obsidian was traded across continents by people who had never met and never would.

Every civilisation on earth found these stones. Every one of them reached the same conclusion: that they carried something. A frequency. A protection. A medicine.

They were right.

I design and handmake every piece of gemstone jewellery here in London. I’m currently studying Materia Medica and ancient healing traditions formally: the specific remedies, the specific physicians, the specific texts that documented what these stones were believed to do. That knowledge feeds directly into every piece I make.

I don’t belong fully to one place, one culture, or one era. Neither does this jewellery. The ancient healer in Isfahan and the ancient healer in Oaxaca were reaching toward the same understanding, through the same earth.

No borders here. No single culture. No single century.
