Tiger’s Eye is formed when quartz replaces crocidolite fibres — the parallel structure produces chatoyancy, the ripple of golden light that moves as the stone turns. Each bead has its own depth and banding. Hematite has a naturally metallic sheen from its iron oxide composition. Black Tourmaline shows fine vertical striations unique to each stone. Canadian Jade ranges from pale celadon to deeper sage green depending on where in the formation it was cut.
